The Prophetic Destiny of the United States

By Gerald B. Winrod

The Prophetic Destiny of the United States by Rev. Gerald B. Winrod presents a biblical interpretation of the United States and its place in prophecy, focusing particularly on Isaiah 18, which Winrod interprets as a prophetic description of America and its national destiny. He examines the country's geographical position, national emblem, history, military character, international role, and future place in the fulfillment of biblical prophecy, arguing that the United States occupies a significant position in the prophetic Scriptures. The second section, The Ministry of the Prophet, uses the ministry of Elijah and his confrontation with Ahab and Jezebel as a model for modern prophetic denunciation of moral and spiritual corruption, particularly the return of pagan and Baal-like influences. The final section, Judgments of the Earth, Past and Future, examines the biblical judgments associated with Lucifer's rebellion, the Flood, and the Pelegian judgment, while also addressing modern skepticism, naturalism, rejection of supernatural Christianity, the coming judgment of the earth, the Second Coming of Christ, and the millennial kingdom.
