Although much of his life was spent trying to earn a living as a writer, he also reflects on the simple joys that sustained him , books, music and art. Poignant with passages that many can relate to The Private Papers of Henry Ryecroft is a testament to a life well'lived and to George Gissing's skill as a writer. Highly-recommended!
