GREAT BOOK! FULL OF LOVE AND ROMANCE!

I loved this book! Loved the dialogue between the two main characters Jay and Kate and liked the minor characters Fred, Peter and Barbara. I'm an animal person and I like how the characters related to Fred. I wish I had a love like Jay and Kate's, they were so romantic! I like that they had a past together and they believe in true love and finding that special someone. I read this book in 1 day. I just ordered the sequel 'Cost of Commitment' yesterday and when I realized it was a three part series, I ordered 'the Value of Valor' today!

Review of "The Price of Fame" by Cheri Rosenberg

Lynn Ames writes in her acknowledgements, "I have always maintained that the best fiction contains elements of truth; as a reader, it's that believability that keeps you turning the pages." The author, a Golden Crown Literary Society Finalist for The Price of Fame, has exceeded her goals in the first installment of the action-packed romance of news anchor Katherine "Kate" Kyle and Time magazine reporter Jamison "Jay" Parker. The Price of Fame is not only convincing but it is hard to put down. The highly acclaimed anchorwoman for the New York State Capitol based news station WCAP-TV is the vivacious, self-assured, drop-dead gorgeous Katherine Kyle. Not only is she brilliant, but her strong work ethic, professionalism, honesty, compassion, and commitment to the greater good including humanity towards fellow humans, has set her way above her peers. She has earned the respect of her coworkers and the love and admiration of her viewers as well. Add the fact that this woman has no idea how attractive she is, how deliciously romantic she can be to the woman who captures her heart, and you have an admirable character you would love to know personally - if not intimately. Jay Parker is an extremely talented aspiring writer for Time Magazine who lives in New York City. Avoiding any thoughts about her painful past, the career-oriented author submerges herself in her work producing astounding human-interest stories. Sent to Albany to write a piece on the popular governor with possible presidential candidate written all over him, Jay spots the woman who has "dominated her dreams and fueled her imagination" [p. 12] on television. Having met Kate on more than one occasion, Jay is awestruck when she catches the local Albany news flash depicting the bravery of the newscaster, the one person she always thought of as her savoir and the other part of her soul. Fate brings these two women together again thereby ensuing a strong attraction and a powerful love affair. Kate is romantic - she makes Jay do more than just blush. Is there any woman on the planet who wouldn't like to hear her lover say, "That's okay, love, because if Michelangelo had had you to use as a model, he could've retired a wealthy man" [p. 142]? Katherine Kyle and Jamison Parker is a match made in heaven in every way. Lynn Ames is proficient at weaving current affairs with flashbacks in this compelling love story where the action never ceases. The author is an award-wining former broadcast journalist, which adds insider information thereby lending itself even further to authenticity and a depth that captures every nuance of the business. Include politics, intrigue, bombings, homophobia, trust issues, etc., and you have a novel that will leave you breathless and hungering for more. Every scene is absorbing and full of energy in the exciting world of Kate and Jay. Falling in love along with the characters is easy when they would go to any lengths, even self-sacrifice, for each other. Can the lo

Wonderfully fulfilling romance

I loved the writing and was delighted to read a romance with such strong women. They are wonderfully unique personalities with interesting careers and hobbies. The author used terrific locales to enhance the novel. I have read this book many times. Don't miss the sequel 'The Cost of Commitment' and 'The Value of Valor'

Dynamic! Intense! Suspenseful!

When a major disaster hits Albany, New York, Katherine Kyle, a beautiful, famous, and well-known anchorwoman for a local television station, becomes the only reporter on the scene. At the same time, Jamison "Jay" Parker, Time Magazine reporter extraordinaire, who has arrived in town to conduct an interview with the Governor, is watching television as the drama unfolds and suddenly breathes out "it's her!" For years her dreams have been filled with pictures of a particular face, a face well remembered with beautiful eyes, eyes belonging to a woman who twice saved her from danger while they were in college. Thrilled that she finally has a name to go with the face, Jay sets out to the site of the disaster to meet, once again, her mystery savior. Jay finds her amidst all the chaos, and Katherine looks up to amazingly discover the woman who has haunted her own thoughts over the years. Katherine's heroics at the disaster make her big news and Jay's editor assigns her to do a feature article on Katherine, which means the two women will be spending lots of time together. A situation neither woman seems to mind at all. Although both women work at maintaining an impartial, professional appearance, strong feelings - intense, passionate feelings come blaring to the surface. Will they allow themselves to act on these feelings? Or will one's uncertainty stop a chance at love before it even starts? And whose career is suddenly put in jeopardy when they are suddenly and unexpectedly "outed"? Was it malicious intent, an act of jealousy or strictly accidental? And how far will the repercussions reach? Fame, it seems, does have its price. What could it cost one or both of the women as they explore a relationship with each other? Will it bond them closer together or tear them apart? Come along the journey as Lynn Ames proves herself a force to be reckoned with as she skillfully unfolds an intense, dramatic and intriguing tale of life, loss, passion and intense love. The sequel, The Cost of Commitment, is certain to be another great book by a very talented author.

It's a definite winner!

The Price of Fame is Lynn Ames's first novel, and it's a definite winner! I found myself wanting to read the entire thing in one sitting. Ames's characters are extraordinarily realistic, and the dialogue is so well written the two protagonists leap off the page. The book opens with a very innovative sequence of flashbacks. It was an intensely gripping start! And Ames keeps the ball rolling throughout with drama, intrigue, mystery, love and romance. I can't wait to see what comes next from this very talented author!
