A Woman Missing for Two Years Suddenly Returns HomeIn book three of the Mifflin County Mystery series, Rosa Petersheim's return creates more hurt and confusion in the Big Valley. Two years since Rosa Petersheim mysteriously disappeared from her Amish home, there has been no word from her. Her family and friends have suffered in the silence, though they have tried to move on with life. Then one day Rosa just as suddenly reappears at her parent's home. . .with a husband in tow. Rosa is ashamed of the choices she made that caused her to leave home. And now that she is back, her father is not welcoming and her siblings and friends want explanations that she can't give. Will Rosa's family accept her and Anthony? Can the Big Valley ever be home again?
This is book three in A Mifflin County Mystery series and I must say it was my favorite. The long awaited answers as to what happened to Rosa Petersheim are tackled and my heart hurt for her as she returns home to face all of her bad choices. She doesn’t return alone and I really love the character of Anthony and how he tries to help her. Some of her family members are difficult especially Susan whom we have met in previous books. She shows how jealousy clouds her good judgement and how choices hurt others. This is a very interesting Amish read and kept my attention from the beginning. I loved that it wasn’t predictable and has a few surprises. You can always count on this author to provide a story grounded in faith, family, sweet romance, and a little mystery to keep it interesting. I really enjoyed this story and found the conclusion satisfying.

THE PRETENDER (A MIFFLIN COUNTY MYSTERY BOOK 3)
by Wanda E. Brunstetter
Rosa Petersheim had disappeared two years ago, after a singing and youth get together in her community in Big Valley. Her friends and family have worried about what might have happened to her. She suddenly appears in their neighborhood.
Rosa has changed her name and her appearance greatly turning from her Amish roots. Now, she must humble herself and beg her family to accept her back into her familial fold. She brings with her an Englisher husband and her unborn baby.
Rosa's father isn't welcoming her, Rosa's disappearance caused her mother to have many health setbacks.
Rosa's younger sister has some secrets of her own.
I didn't care for the younger sister's antics. I suppose there is always someone like that in a lot of families, no matter if you are Englisher or Amish.
I did like the conclusion to the book, it was worth waiting for to see how the series concluded. Highly recommend.
