Worthwhile for those on the inner journey.

The author notes in his introduction that his use of the term "ally" differs significantly with the way it is used in shamanic practices. It is interesting to note that Carlos Castaneda was the first to use this term as a resource for human knowledge. It hardly seems inimical to draw similarities between the way Castaneda used the term and the way the term is used in this book. The method may be different drawing as it does on the Alchemical associations and insights derived from the work of the seminal Depth Psychologist C.G. Jung. While incorporating significant insight from the work of Jung the author does not stop there, but also brings in disparate wisdom from other traditions including Sufism and the insights of Jewish mysticism. His use of the Imaginal world to open us through a creative communication endeavor with our 'ally' along with meaningful practices, helps develop and illuminate the deep unconscious. I enjoyed this book and find myself tapping into my own intuition throughout the day to ask questions of this force. What I am learning is that this force holds a depth of loving affirmation. As one goes deeper into this process what emerges is a discernment of peace and when I respond positively to that presence of peace within, events contain a good outcome. When I respond from fear or unceartainty, a bad outcome follows. When peace is not present that is a clear sign that something else has taken over, and needs further work. Great book!
