A Powerful Tool For Speakers

In my work as a professional Civil Marriage Celebrant of New Zealand'The Power of Speech,' by Marie Stuttard is my bible. I have used this book ever since it was given to me by a friend in 1994 and reccommend to all new celebrants.In a clear and concise way, the author, shares her passion and life long experience with language and speech. By simply opening the book one can unlock the mysteries and learn how to be a more powerful and confident public speaker.This book helps to remove the fear associated, by many, with public speaking because it brings language alive and shows how important clear and positive speech is in every day life. Anyone who wants to be a more polished, more confident and more professional speaker should have 'The Power of Speech,' on their bookshelf.To me, one of the secret of a truly successful speaker, lies in the passage on page 84-85 - the 'Six Ps.' After reading "The Power of Speeech" confidence my zoomed!

I have been a professional trainer, network marketer and consultant over a number of years and thought I was a confident speaker until I read this amazing book! Within hours of reading this book and listening to her audio tapes, I found I was dropiing my "Ums " and ers" etc.started making more intelligent use of the 'pause' and changed the range in which I spoke - more frequently. As a frequent speaker at local business gatherings and network meetings, I've suddenly discovered how little I knew - after so many years! Now my audiences are more attentive, I can see their eyes , the expressions on their faces as they wait in anticipation of my next words. I've learnt how to put more punch into my deliveries and how to slow-down or soeed up to ensure my delivery matches the content of my topic better. I highly recommend this book to everyone. Marie's background and experience is amazing in itself - small wonder she has been able to write such a practical and easy-to-implement book. Thanks Marie - now I feel I can can soar!

An amazing book...

Maries passion of langauge shines through! The simple layout and practical ideas and techniques have improved my langauge and presentations to an extraordinary level. The only book you ever need on speech.

"A picture tells a thousand words". In "The Power of Speech", with its pictorial presentation, you can actually "listen" to the book. Try it, and you'll know it's true. Every 2 pages highlight a point - I find it very easy to read. Plus, some recommended exercises to help you loosen your oral muscles. I have other books and tapes on speech; but, Marie's book is clearly the most comprehensive and authoritative! Superior communication skills can definitely enhance your career; buying this book is a small but worthwhile investment. Let Marie help you!

Great adventure to learn speech

I have improved a lot to give a speech after I read "the power of speech." Even though my first language is not English, but there is no obstacle. The author explains the strategy with very simple concept to let the reader could understand very easily. I could apply it to my own language with no problem. Also, it's not just for giving speech, I think it is a lesson that we can learn how to communicate with people more efficiently and not bore other people. It is a great adventure and experience to learn the power and passion of language.
