I just re-read this book after reading it 7 years ago when it had first come out. It is still one of the best books that I have come across that gives a fair and objective treatment of the phenomena of faith healing. Grazier was (and still is) a typical newspaper reporter for the Erie (PA) Times who decided to investigate whether faith healing was for real after a personal encounter with Charles and Frances Hunter. The book is an account of his odyssey in this. Grazier takes the reader along with him as he tries to make sense of it all. For someone who started out totally unfamiliar with this kind of spiritual experience, Grazier does a good job of capturing the essence of the different styles and philosophies of the practitioners of faith healing, and presenting them fairly. While not a theologically deep book, the author does come up with quite a number of valid spiritual insights, in my opinion. The bottom line for me was that I found my faith renewed by the stories he recounts of God's intervention in our world.
