Frannie gets an opportunity to vacation at her aunt and uncle's mountain resort town for the summer, just as her relationship with Ronnie hits the What-do-you-want-to-do-tonight-I-dunno-what-do-you-want-to-do stage. In this sequel to The Popularity Plan, once there, she takes on her too-shy-shy cousin as a protegee, setting the Plan in motion once again. Just as her cousin Joleen starts to receive more male attention, so does Frannie, who is ambivalent about her middle-aged relationship with back-home Ronnie. Ronnie, one of the first boyfriends of the series and an elder statesman of Sweet Dreams male heroes, returns in this sequel, and is just as pensive and reticent as ever. Frannie must decide if she wants to stay with Ronnie, or move on. Yelling at Frannie as she finds her way romantically makes for a good time.
