What you need to know

This book assembles information about the choices we make, pointing out some of the false economies we typically engage in. For example, the author points out how a woodfire can leave less of an environmental impact than other forms of heating, since fuel is often burned in the transportation of the other fuels. I would not have expected that use of an efficient woodstove would reduce my carbon footprint. Helpful web links are sprinkled throughout the book, providing in-depth reading on topics of particular interest. It's a great, informative starting point for the responsible person who wants to equip him- or herself to be more responsible.
