Joseph Larson, a CEO of a solid technology company in Boston, and his wife Emily, a columnist for international magazines, are set to enjoy a lucrative early retirement. They find their retirement dream home nestled among the quiet countryside estates in Spokeridge, Massachusetts. They begin to be followed and chased by unmarked cars and anonymous people appear out of nowhere as they find themselves the target of an occult that has the power to control people, time and the very essence of the world After witnessing a night time ritual, they find out that the towns people are involved in a mysterious cult that spans the dawn of time and their family becomes entangled in a desperate race to get out of the town and save their lives - only to find that leaving may be virtually impossible - and the world as they thought it was turns out to be horrifyingly different
