The Plight of Stacie Price

The plight of Stacie Price is narrated with intimacy of family foremost in mind. The novel portrays the full range of human emotions from the frustrations of a young girl finding herself pregnant out of wedlock, to the depths of despair when an CIA agent friend learns he has leprosy. The reader's interest is held with a down to earth homespun plot that involves a southern family. The human interest happenings are inserted into several actual historical events that occurred in human history. The novel takes on a different twist when a CIA agent arrives in Uganda. Alice Lakwena, a self proclaimed prophetess who spent time in the wilderness eventually proclaims herself as the leader of the Lord's Resistance Forces, an organization organized to fight for the impoverished souls in South Africa. The Price family's secret surrounds Stacie's pregnancy, the extreme measures the family took to cover up a childbirth out of wedlock. Several interwoven side plots keeps the story moving. Though confronted with many life changing possibilities, the mountains and valleys families go through, her strong faith and family's dedication to each other makes "The Plight of Stacie Price" an interesting believable story from beginning to end.
