Vivienne O'Regan is writing for the dedicated Pagan, the person who is willing to dedicate a minimum of half an hour a day for at least 2 years in order to become a real Priestess. Be warned: This isn't an introductory book, and as such, there's no "fluff". O'Regan provides a lot of information and highly effective excercises. You can expect to come out of this intensive program with a fairly thorough understanding of the Mysteries. As for biases, O'Regan admittedly has them. She completely ignores the masculine face of Deity. Keep in mind that there's no law against altering exercises/rituals to include Gods, if you so desire. She draws mostly on Ancient Mediterranean pantheons for her examples, but, as she herself says, this type of focus is relatively easy to change. It should also be mentioned that this book is *not* Wiccan, O'Regan is a member of the Lyceum of Isis of the Stars, another Pagan organization. This book can still be *quite* useful to a Wiccan, but it is worth mentioning the difference in viewpoint. In short, while O'Regan demands a large commitment on the reader's part, she also *delivers*. The more you put in, the more you get out. I *highly* recommend it.
