Great for CCD, homeschool, or anytime...

I'm teaching 6th graders the Old Testament in CCD and have been looking a long time for a Picture Bible for this age range. I bought one to check it out and love it! I particularly like that it is Catholic and covers sacred things very well! This will be a fantastic accompaniment to the regular (rather academic) text we're using, and I know the kids will read all the stories and remember them easier! I even enjoy reading and looking at the artwork. I highly recommend it for teachers, whether in the home or CCD or wherever.

Spectacular

Holds children’s interest and the word of God comes alive to children and even adults like this I have taught Sunday school almost 40 years nothing compared with this I often give them as gifts

Fabulous tool

As workers in a Latin American country, we use La Biblia Illustrada regularly. The children and adults who read this book absolutely love it, and they are learning accurate, historical Bible accounts in the process. Motivated by the colorful action-filled drawings, children in the public schools here practice their reading skills eagerly, and we often work in small groups reading from both the Spanish and English versions to help with their English skills. On an even more personal note, all four of our children loved the Picture Bible from the time they were old enough to follow along. My college daughter recently lent hers to a hall-mate, who was thrilled to have it as a resource for her Old Testament Survey class!

It's a comic book!

I buy these bibles by the case as an evangeliziing tool - to give to people as gifts. Last week I heard a teenage girl light up in her group of friends expressing joy that this bible was a comic book - this made the others wish they too had listened and engaged in thoughtful discussion about the meaning of life. Of all the comic book like bible books, I like this one the best because it is very detailed and sticks to the words of the bible. It's good for all ages - helps people read the bible who otherwise would not, and learn the life lessons through biblical stories.

I RAN INTO THIS AWSOME BIBLE WHEN I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL AWAY FROM HOME FOR WHILE WHEN A LADY PUSHING A CART WITH BOOKS HANDED IT TO ME SMILED & WALKED AWAY I CAN'T REMEMBER IF IT WAS A NURSE OR A NUN BUT IT HELPED ME THREW THE UPS AND DOWNS WITH MY STAY AT THE HOSPITAL. AFTER I WAS RELEASED FROM THE PLACE I GAVE IT TO MY SISTERS KIDS AND THEY ENJOYED IT AND READ IT OVER & OVER I HAVE A COPY OF MY OWN AND THINK EVERYONE IN THE WORLD SHOULD TOO.

Excellent, accurate, great for early readers thru teenagers

Of the various "youth" Bibles that are available, my 3 children grew up loving this book best, wearing out several copies of it. It is an accurate, hardcover Bible in comic book format, having wide appeal for early readers to teenagers. It is a great way to get kids started in their religious reading, and the retention level was impressive. This is usually what we give for religious occasions that require a present, and I have had nothing but positive feedback from the receivers and their parents. It is also difficult to find, so I am very pleased to see it carried by my favorite virtual bookstore!
