A supernatural entity appears at a landfill when an unusual talisman is dropped to the ground during an altercation between two boys. Their newly formed group is then forced to set aside their differences as a truck driver who is reputed to have killed his wife becomes increasingly volatile and erratic.
The group discovers there is a relationship between the truck driver, the entity and a painting that is stolen from the site's trash and treasure shop. However, before they can put all the pieces together, they find that all their lives have been placed in danger.
The Phoenix and the Serpent is a provocative parable about the importance of friendship and the danger that lies in jumping to conclusions.
