The Pharaoh and the Shabti

Pharaoh Senusret was a warrior in his earthly existence. Now, in this peaceful afterlife created by the god Osiris for those judged worthy of resurrection, he is bored. He sends Metjen, one of his shabti servants, on a mission to seek out any troubles or rebellion where he can intervene to satisfy his urge for military action. Metjen meets three other shabtis and they agree to join him in his quest. They learn that Joseph, who had been Viceroy of Egypt in his earthly life, was being pursued by three court officials who had been jealous of his appointment. The shabtis set out to find Joseph before the others do and place him under the protection of the Pharaoh. There are dangers, but the Supreme God Ra intervenes to help them.
