A legal must have

I am a 1L who does not yet own a copy of Blacks (I know...) This book was a gift and has, thus far, proven a true asset to all of my classes. The terms are explained with precise legal language, just as one might expect from Blacks. However, many of the definitions also come with real-life, simple illustrations of how a term might function so the reader can truly grasp the essence of the legal jargon. This book is not perfect, however. It is much smaller and slimmer than Blacks. So, naturally some terms are not there. However, most of the major terms that I have needed to survive in these first weeks are in there! I highly recommend this book for anyone who is daunted by a legal process or just starting out in their law school journey!
