Insightful and chilling

As a current Harvard Law student myself, I can attest to the chilling picture that Thomas presents in this well-written book. Few people outside of Harvard know just how far out of touch with America and the majority of its citizens Harvard Law School (and most law schools) have become. What these institutions label as "conservative" most people would call moderate-liberals. Harvard is emblematic of institutions of higher learning that proclaim diversity while instituting fascist polices designed to utterly eliminate the once venerable free discussion of ideas. This philosophy is due to their prevalent hated of America and freedom that these institutions have so luckily flourished under. How sad -- how scary.

Great Book! Bold and skillfully well-written

This is an important book. It will be read, re-read, and thoroughly debated for many years to come. In a kind and direct manner, the author skillfully makes a point that hits home to conservatives and liberals, and is intensely thought provoking from both sides. Often times, the cold facts can be very unsettling to some. The Author has a demonstrated ability to focus on important issues in a fair and thoughtful, yet candid manner, and his record as County Attorney for the 3rd largest county in America has brought very favorable reviews from voters of both parties. I feel that this book will be vigorously discussed and debated at cocktail and dinner parties, as well as in schools and offices. Whatever your feelings, read it. Then participate in the debate.This will be the hot-read for Summer 2005 I predict.

What Every American Should Know About Law Schools

From personal experience and as a professional, I know that this book is not only an accurate indictment of Harvard Law but also most of America's other law schools. This book should be read by anyone considering a career as a lawyer or any interaction with the legal system. What leftist social activists have failed to achieve through the legislative and executive branches, they have been very successful at achieving through the selection and indoctrination of future attorneys and judges. Reading Thomas' work gives one full appreciation of the 'why' behind current debates over abortion, the death penalty, gay marriage, illegal immigration, and other issues dominating the news and clogging our judicial system. The way these issues are handled in law school shape the legal arguments and judicial decisions interpreting our constitutional and statutory rights.

Andrew Peyton Thomas, the district attorney for Maricopa County, Arizona, and a graduate of Harvard Law School, has put together a well-written, intriguing expose on the state of free speech at his alma mater, providing an insider's perspective of the top law professors in the country. Oddly enough, the friction over free speech is not between the political "left" and the "right," because there are practically no conservatives in the administration or on the law faculty, and the majority of students offered admission are also of the leftist persuasion. The battle over free speech is between the "left" and the "far left." (p. 170) Conservatives are rarely mentioned in the book; the major players consist of traditional leftists like Alan Dershowitz versus the new leftists, known as "Crits."
