This research arose out of an interest in trying to understand the plural role that the pedagogical coordinator assumes within an educational institution. The more I delve into the relationships and responsibilities of this fundamental part of school life, the more I realise the need to find other ways to contribute to the successful execution of their work. In this way, this research report is based on a study of the coordinating teacher, from the point of view of what is defined and supported by current legislation in Brazil and in the state of S o Paulo, and on reviewing and observing the context of the study, as well as understanding the practices of those involved in this action.
