The Patient
When Adam Reeves accepts a strange job renovating an old house in the North of England, he thinks his money troubles are finally over. This would be the perfect excuse for him to take a break from his everyday life, get some work experience under his belt, and earn enough money to buy his own place. The exciting prospects force him to look past the small print of the contract. As a result, he seals his own fate.
Travelling up to the remote town of Ambleside, it feels as though he's stepping into a bubble universe, being cut-off from the rest of the world.
He soon finds out that the lake house, much like its occupants, are hiding a dark secret within.
After several accidents, Adam begins to feel like his life his in danger. Coupled with the fact that he feels like he's being followed and his bedroom window keeps opening, it's hard for him to miss the warning signs.
Despite forming a friendship with the enigmatic Audrey, who seems to glide through life like a ghost, untouched by the macabre goings-on around her, Adam finds himself losing his grasp on reality.
When a dead body turns up, Adam is quickly drawn into a police investigation surrounding the house and its members. Especially one in particular.
