Before you purchase, be sure to view the original 1961 film.

Based on a book by Erich Kästner, twins Hallie Parker/Annie James (Lindsay Lohan) are separated at birth and trying to get their original parents back together. This is cute, and the people are more contemporary. However, the remake lost many things in the translation. I like both Dennis Quaid's [link=tt0108442] Undercover Blues [/link] and Natasha Richardson, but they just do not have the same interaction needed to pull it off. The tone is condescending. Yes, when you get a second chance, you can improve on a good thing. However, improvement does not mean just using the title. Still, if we do not compare, then all in all this is worth watching.
