Whitney Daniels despised the government men sent to close down her family's distillery in Rapture Valley, Pennsylvania. Major Garner Townsend knew Whitney was as far from an Eastern debutante as her wild blackwater town was from his prestigious Back Bay. Worse, she was leading the very rebellion he was under orders to crush. Garner knew the consequences of falling for a woman like Whitney. But the consequences be damned.
I really enjoyed this steamy period piece. The hero left a little to be desired but the heroine was deliciously fun.

I have never read this author, but really enjoyed this book. It was a little shaky at first, but she does a nice job with both hero and heroine. I'm sorry the first reviewer got taken by the title switcheroo, but the book itself is very nice, so I don't think it warrents one star.

I found this book delightful. Garner is a staid Bostonian and Whitney (Whiskey) Daniels is as far removed from a Boston parlor as you can get. She was raised in the frontier and her father opperates an illegal still which she helps to care for. She is as wild as they come. A compromising situation lead these two opposites to the alter and Whitner to Boston were she must find a way to fit into her husbands world. This book is filled with humor as Whitney tries to learn how to be a proper Bostonian wife such as when she decided to learn to drink wine. The cast of characters also add to the books charm. This is a great read.
