BIOGRAPHY Russell C. Arslan The starting point for Russell Arslan's political and social progressive leanings was growing up in southwest Los Angeles and graduating from the ethnically and racially diverse Dorsey High School. His academic achievements led to an advanced degree in international economics and a lifelong career in academia. At an early age, twenty years old, he became a full time member of the Long Beach Community College instructional staff and six years later was employed as a full time adjunct member at California State University Long Beach where more than five decades later he retired from both institutions. During his academic career, he became affiliated with the ACLU, the Club of Rome, the Western Economic Association, and worked with the Jimmy Carter administration. Using his economics and finance background, he was involved in hotel and motel acquisitions, purchasing commercial and residential real estate and a financial institution ownership. The collaboration of his academic and business careers was augmented by extensive international travel taking him to more than 150 countries. Mr. Arslan uses the storytelling platform for expressing his experiences and convictions. The story lines intertwine events and historical facts for the reader's entertainment. Writing a book and knowingly taking poetic license is similar to being an oral historian with sustaining an audience agenda. His novel's technique entertains the reader with the protagonist, Matt Papaz approaching reality and current events transformation.
