A poetic tale speaking to the heart of humanity as a reminder we are all deeply connected with natur

Naturalists will sign it's praises! There are characters we can all identify with one way or another as fragile humans or as advocates for falling in love with the earth. Mr Powers is able to describe a tree like Mozart describes a song. Lyrical.

Terrible

Completely depressing. Drags on.

Beautifully written, weaving stories of 6 people and how trees affected their lives.

As weird as this premise seems, Powers makes this story believable and you don't want to put it down. There are powerful messages but Powers doesn't come off as preachy.

I couldn't wait for morning to go walking in the forest so I just stood outside by the maple.

This book is for those who need to be awakened. Powers confirms what scientists have been telling us about the underworld of the forest and how all of the life there is connected just like us and our families. This story will take you on a journey and open your eyes and heart. Trees are our magnificent friends and need serious protection from loggers now. Try to savor this one.

The Overstory

A beautifully written book of environmental fiction that will move you to look at your most familiar trees in a new way.
