Mckenna Treasure, a high school senior in the small town of Twin Falls, Idaho, has a fascination with the criminal mind and a determination to study forensic psychology. However, when she is assigned to study the Cole Kessler case for her AP psychology class, her simple, routine life becomes complex and dangerous. Two years ago, Cole, the town's shining football star with charm, good looks and an infinite amount of potential shocked the town when he murdered a convenient store clerk after his final all-star game. When Mckenna first meets with Cole, she immediately senses that he is hiding something. Mckenna decides to start her own investigation to understand Cole's motive and retrace his steps that night. The closer Mckenna gets to Cole to gain his trust, the stronger their attraction to one another becomes and she must decide if she is willing to risk her own future to save his.
