When the two men finally meet again, after almost fifty years, the past is no longer something that can be managed with money, influence or carefully chosen words. P ter knows the man behind the public identity, and Milan knows exactly how much that knowledge could cost him.
But there is another complication neither man can escape: Ernest had begun looking into the same buried history shortly before his death. Among his papers are old photographs, names and questions about the 1976 incident-questions that suggest he had come much closer to the truth than his father ever realized.
As the investigation closes in and P ter's search turns into something far more personal, the distinction between justice and revenge begins to disappear.
