I tried to read this book at the beginning of the summer a few years ago. I found it difficult to get past the first chapter but it must have been one of those strange cases of 'it just wasn't the right time', if you believe in that sort of thing. At the end of the summer I tried again and I was instantly sucked in. I finished it within a few hours and was very sad to put it down when I was done.
