The Only Woman in the Room

As I started writing down my thoughts, particularly about some of my achievements and advancements, I knew I need to acknowledge Doyle Boren, my early Rockwell supervisor, who recognized my potential and made the first strides in getting my pay more in line with my male counterparts. Doyle also suggested I be considered for my first management position, as supervisor to the group he was leaving. The next two giant steps were made possible by Keith McClung, RSOC Associate Program Manager, for first stepping outside the mold and naming me to my manager position, and later naming me as the first female director in a sea of males (enabling me to be "the only woman in the room" for the first time). Without their faith in me, I would not have enjoyed the career I had.
