Change Your Life in a Minute - You Really Can Do It

We all have very busy lives and we know how hard it is to work anything else into our schedule. I sympathize with the lack of time. However, can you find a couple of minutes in your day? Some people will find time at breakfast, on the train to work, in the restroom or some other place. The location doesn't matter - the important thing is to find a few minutes. This book is set up in a layout that I've really come to appreciate. Masha gave you a series of short points and then action steps to help you actually move forward and to make a difference in your life. Each chapter contains a series of these points. There are over 50 points and over 50 action steps in this book - so literally, there is something for everyone. She discusses the topics listed below. * Freedom to be Who You Are. * The Secrets of People Who Are Successful. * Why Do We Suffer? * The Secret to a Great Life. * Are You a Natural Leader? * Time Management and Decision Making. * The Best Source of Wealth. * Is It Ever Too late? To give you some examples of the talking points in the book, I'll share some of my favorite sections. Freedom to be who you are - "Don't say if I could I would. Say instead, If I can, I will." - Jim Rohn. The Secrets of people who are successful - "Successful people make a habit of doing what the failing person doesn't like to do." - Thomas Edison . The most important ingredient to your success - "Calm self confidence is as far from conceit as the desire to earn a decent living is remote from greed." - Channing Pollock. Are you guilty? - "Lack of forgiveness causes almost all of our self-sabotaging behavior." - Mark Victor Hansen. How much do you love yourself? - Let's talk about LOVE. More specifically, I would like to focus on self love. Why? Because you cannot give more than you have - in order to give and receive love, you have to first love yourself. Using words with good purpose. - Did you know that you can positively transform your environment just by changing the words that you use? Personal satisfaction at work - "We can change our lives. We can do, have and be exactly what we wish." - Anthony Robbins. How much do you rely on logic? Do you make your decisions using mainly your logic or your intuition? Produce the results you are looking for - "The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results." - Albert Einstein. What did you miss out on today? "If a man empties his purse into his head, no man can take it away from him. An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest." Benjamin Franklin. The power of questions - "The quality of our lives is closely related to the quality of our questions." - Michael Angier. Ask and you will receive - "Quality questions create a quality life. Successful people ask better questions and as a result, the get better answers." Anthony Robbins. Excellence is not an act, but a habit - "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act

Great Common Sense Advice on Life Success

Recently I had the opportunity to read a great little book, The One Minute Coach, by Masha Malka. Masha is a young woman, but she is wise beyond her years. This is a book worth reading if you are interested in becoming a success in your life and career. I love the way The One Minute Coach is organized. Masha has provided bits of wisdom in a great format. Each chapter is two pages. The first is a discussion of the topic with a related quote. The second page is devoted to action steps. In other words, if you spend a minute a day with this book, you can find some great success advice - and common sense I might add. Here is an excerpt from the last chapter. "Make the most of yourself; for that is all there is of you." Ralph Waldo Emerson "What is the most important job that you do? I believe that the most important job you do is the one that is unheard and unseen. The most important job you do happens within. "It is the journey to be becoming the best you can be. It is becoming the kind of person who attracts all that you want in life. The most important job you do, is getting to know yourself - who you are, and what you want to had, to do and be in this life. "You become the best you can be by taking your time to be with yourself, to understand your wants and needs, to understand and honor your uniqueness. "You do it by realizing that you are in control of your life and your future and by taking consistent actions to create that future - taking full responsibility rather than blaming circumstances. "Action Steps: "Before you move on to the next page, before you close this book and immerse yourself into your day-to-day tasks, please take you calendar and schedule a date with yourself. It doesn't matter if you schedule a full day or just 20 minutes. As long as you know that this time is just for you - to do what you want, to think about what you want, to just be. It is the time to honor yourself as someone important enough to be with. "Make an ongoing date, a time or day you can look forward to. "Be patient, be good to yourself, and enjoy the journey!" Every chapter is organized this way. That's why I think The One Minute Coach is a great book. It's the kind of book you can carry with you to read in spare moments. Check it out, I think you'll find it helpful, easy to read - and full of good common sense advice on becoming a career and life success.

A testament to what success really means

As a life long student of self-improvement/self-help information, it is refreshing to read the simplicity of Masha Malka's formula for success. One need only look at her own level of achievement to realize the book contains powerful formulas that can take a person from exile to living their dream . Not only does Masha give you tools to achieve success, she also has specific action steps you can take listed throughout the book. For example, the information on How Successful People Deal with Failure is a testament to the fact that the most successful people also face failure. Masha shows it is not the failure that can destroy one's dreams, but rather the reaction to failure. Reading even a few pages in the morning and evening will set the tone for a life filled with more success. Kathleen Gage The Street Smarts Marketer

A Wise and Delightful Book

This is a slim book, but one that is packed with smart attractively presented insights. In an age when few of have the time to read as much as we would like to, this is a book full of short anecdotes and stories that illustrate a range of themes from success to leadership and decision-making. Masha Malka is living proof of what can happen if human potential is allowed to express itself. She was born and raised in the Ukraine in the last days of the Soviet Union, and she and her family were finally able to leave when she was seventeen years old. But the family left as stateless refugees with nothing more than a few hundred dollars and scant knowledge of any language apart from Russian. Now, only fifteen or sixteen years later, Masha is living in Spain, married with three children and enjoying a successful business and a growing reputation as a trainer and coach. The book consists of 52 short messages and questions, each followed by a series of well-chosen action steps. Many will be familiar to anyone interested in personal development, but Masha has distilled the essence of many other teachings, and used some of he methods of neurolinguistic programming in writing the book. So the text is powerful, and enhanced by a large number of witty illustrations by Anna Polonsky. There are a number of well-chosen quotations, though I have a tiny grumble that Masha repeats the oft-quoted mistake that Marianne Williamson's wonderful piece starting with the words, "We fear that we are inadequate, but our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure..." was used by Nelson Mandela. It never was, but that hardly detracts from the central message of Masha's work: that you can make big changes in your life with the smallest of shifts in attitude and perspective, followed by some brief but concerted effort. This is a book that you can either read from cover to cover, or better yet, dip into whenever you have a few moments, so it is one for the briefcase as well as the bedside table. Highly recommended. More than just "the secret"

For these fast-paced times, the One Minute Coach is an excellent source of quick, easy-to-read applied wisdom. And it's so well organized that I can always come back to specific sections when needed. Even if I already knew certain things, Ms. Malka has a gift to explain them much clearer, sweeter and to the point that my understanding quadruples as I turn the pages. With the use of parables and stories, and clever illustrations at the end of each section (kudos to the artist!), the wisdom you get out of reading this book simply sticks. And the best part is that you'll feel really good in the process! (The original smile I got from reading still hasn't left my face.)
