"The Old Oak Tree" is the third of the Dyers' books. The main characters in this book were introduced in their first book, "Adventures in the Country". Luke Patrick was a military "brat", and his family moved often. Every year, he spent his summers with his grandparents on a farm in rural Georgia. Luke loved spending time with their old hunting dog, Blue, and playing with their neighbors' granddaughter. The two children became close friends over the years and were very upset when his grandparents moved out-of-state. Although they couldn't spend their summers together anymore, they thought of each other often and hoped that some day they would be able to visit again. In the Dyers' second book, "Six Pyrenees Puppies", the Browns' purebred Great Pyrenees, Snowball, has six puppies. The puppies go to live with different people. One of those puppies is highlighted in "The Old Oak Tree". Read how Luke and the Pyrenees puppy's lives intersect. Will Luke's dream of returning to Georgia ever come to pass?
