Tod, a feckless young man, inherits a rambling old family home on the Maine Coast. In order to make a living he decides to turn it into an old age home. In spite of his high hopes, the business is not as profitable as he desires. His incompetence in dealing with the clients leads to an unfortunate incident, which results in death.
