An inspirational children's book that teaches perseverance, and unwillingness to quit, no matter how hard the road ahead may be. This is the story of an aging car, named Goldie, near the end of her usefulness, and her owner, an aging toymaker whose only joy is making toys for the children who live in a village at the top of a very steep hill. This is a hill she used to roar up when she was young and sparkly but now the road ahead is very scary for her. She doesn't know if she has the strength to make it but she has a responsibility, to her owner, the toymaker, and more importantly, the village children.
As she struggles forward, She isn't sure she has the strength to go forward and continue her job. But it is the thought of the responsibility she has, that gives her the inner strength to go forward, despite the complaints of her aging, damaged engine. It is also the words of encouragement, by the old toymaker that gives her the strength to go forward regardless of how hard or how steep the road ahead is.
It is my sincere hope that this will inspire both children and maybe the adults who may read with them. Sometimes the road ahead may seem insurmountable, but if you truly believe, like Goldie discovers, you CAN and WILL accomplish anything.
