The Ohio Man Book I

By: Maverick, J. A.

When the world ends, Bubba Jay Thornbush figures he'll ride it out the same way he's handled everything else: stubbornness, overalls, and sheer hillbilly determination.

But a routine trip to Walmart turns into the apocalypse in a single blood-soaked afternoon. Zombies flood the aisles, raiders take advantage of the chaos, and a storm the color of poisoned lightning sweeps across Ohio, bringing something far worse with it.

Bubba escapes with a handful of survivors, including Valerie, a sharp-tongued cheerleader who's braver than she thinks, and Panther, a mysterious woman with the skills of a ghost and secrets carved into her scars. Together, they flee into the deep woods toward the only safe place left: Bubba's family homestead.

But safety doesn't last long.

A monstrous behemoth moves in the storm above the hills, wolves hunt through the darkness, and an unstoppable dead horde is marching straight toward them. Bubba never asked to lead, never wanted to become anyone's hero, yet the fate of every survivor now rests on the shoulders of a man who'd rather be fixing his truck than saving the world.

The end of Ohio is coming.

And Bubba Jay Thornbush is the only thing standing in its way.
