A young lawyer/writer moves his family, a wife and young child, to a country setting in order to pursue his writing desire. The large Victorian home and property dates back to the Civil War between the states, and the young boy, though unhappy at first, soon becomes enthralled in its history. Plus, he is very determined to unravel the other "secret" that is so evasively concealed from him. Disastrous and deadly circumstances bring together, and intertwine, the lives of two different families from two completely different worlds. The aftermath of the circumstances will impact both families, lasting for a lifetime.
