The Obsidian Files 7: The Art Curator and the Master Forger
A 500-year-old masterpiece. A secret worth killing for. And a forger who is the only man who can see the truth.
Art curator Camila Reyes lives a quiet life surrounded by the ghosts of history. Her world is one of order, beauty, and provenance. But when a priceless Renaissance painting with a forged history is acquired by her museum, she discovers an anomaly that should be impossible: a cryptic message hidden in plain sight, a secret cipher embedded in the ancient frame.
Her discovery throws her into the crosshairs of a ruthless assassin, and a near-fatal "accident" proves that her quiet world was a beautiful lie. Her only lifeline is a voice on a burner phone belonging to a man named Brooks-a cynical, brilliant, and dangerously skilled master forger who operates in the art world's darkest shadows.
Forced into a reluctant alliance, the meticulous curator and the master criminal must work together to steal the painting back from under the museum's nose. Their mission becomes a high-stakes treasure hunt, a race from a San Francisco museum to a forgotten chapel in Florence, following a 500-year-old map left by the Medicis. On the run from an unstoppable killer, they are a volatile mix of suspicion and undeniable attraction, two experts from opposite worlds who must learn to trust each other to survive.
But when they finally uncover the location of a mythical prize, they realize they haven't been the hunters at all. They've been the hounds, unwittingly leading the enemy to the one secret that could give her ultimate power.
The seventh installment of The Obsidian Files is a breathtaking, globe-trotting adventure where history is a weapon, art is a map, and the only thing more dangerous than the truth is falling for the one man who is a master of the lie.
