Summary

Raul tells his life story in the first person. His journey into the past, which is marked by traumatic experiences, explains why he is so fixated on the female sex.

He avoids any more in-depth bond with people. However, this does not prevent him from standing up for her or putting his existence and even his life at risk.

Another traumatic experience changes him. This makes him open to a new kind of relationship. Gregor enters his life. For him, he represents the first man from whom he is unable to detach himself. He does not succeed in his attempt to distance himself from him.

Only in a perverse game, where it is a matter of life and death, do these two men get closer again. Both grow inwardly and go beyond themselves. Finally, they are able, each for himself, to go their own way.
