Book Overview

In this cinematic thriller from a New York Times bestselling author, two sisters must fight for their survival after a natural disaster in the Pacific Northwest.

In the shadow of Mount Hood, sixteen-year-old Tennant is checking rabbit traps with her eight-year-old sister Sophie when the girls are suddenly overcome by a strange vibration rising out of the forest, building in intensity until it sounds like a deafening crescendo...

Overall it's pretty good

It has a unique storyline and is well-written. The book is good, but it was long and dragged in spots. It certainly was not written by James Patterson and he gets way too much credit for just adding his name on all of "his" books. It has more of a Steven King feeling. I like the style J.D. Barker has and it keeps you interested in trying to find the source of the noise as it builds from a simple beginning to a sudden violent change and trying to find the cause and solution.

Patterson trying to emulate Stephen King

This is not a typical James Patterson book. It reminnds me os some of Stephen Kings later books which are much poorer than his previous books. It seems to be written for someone who likes to correograph special effects to do this if (And I hope never) makes a movie of it. I kept reading it and it never got better.

This book is great, It kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat I just couldn't put it down. Mr

I never could guess what the noise wasor what the problem was until he revealed the problem. It's a must read book

Don’t waste your time

Very wordy, skipped through lots of it. Story was lacking and ending was awful. This book was so bad I threw it in the trash…

Money machine liar!!

Patterson is a hack and doesn’t write his own books. Barker wrote this entire one and it’s obvious by the style and prose. Get your names of these books James. You haven’t been good since Kiss the Girls!
