While on a scenic jaunt to one of the peaks, she is confronted with warnings of an ominous approaching blizzard with hurricane winds. She must quickly mobilize and supervise the foreign miners and families who are all from a strange and isolated mountain village in the Alps. At the height of the storm she is confronted with the birth of a premature baby to one of the families, a mysterious ritual and the sinister threat of infanticide. As the sole management authority on the mountain site and cut off from communications, Celeste faces life decisions in the blizzard darkness. And she finds that isn't the only life threatening crises on this Blood of Christ Mountain. This is an adventure story for both young and old adults
