The New Testament - Volume 3: Galatians - Revelation: NASB 1995: Formatted and Edited for Ancient Middle Eastern Argument Structures (The New ... Ancient Middle Eastern Argument Structures)
The inspired New Testament authors did not organize and write their thoughts as we do. An original manuscript would show a lengthy string of evenly spaced Greek letters with no punctuation or space between words. The authors also didn't organize their thoughts based on paragraphs where each paragraph has a conclusion/climax at the end. Instead, they used extensive and creative combinations of a few very rigid argument structures based on ordered stanzas linked by parallelisms. Moreover, the conclusion/climax often sits in the middle. Ancient argumentation is also layered so the text-level arguments just mentioned are typically linked by overarching arguments utilizing further parallelisms. Beyond that, the layering often runs five or more layers deep as additional layers are used to link ever larger sections of the text. Unfortunately, there is no way to communicate these layered arguments to the reader using paragraph-based formatting. In this work, for the first time, the New Testament Scriptures are formatted and edited to present the inspired authors' elegant and intricate argumentation. In addition, through detailed outlines, labeled argumentation, and summaries that illustrate stanza parallelisms, every effort is made to get the reader as close as possible to the intent and reasoning of the inspired author. This is the New Testament as you have never seen it before - specifically designed to help you better understand and be guided by the fascinating depth and nuance of God's ancient, but infallible, word.
