The Netherlands 2140

By: Vermin, Rere

In the year 2140, the Netherlands has become unrecognizable. Democracy has not fallen through war, but through silence, fear, and the promise of order. As rising waters and social unrest destabilize the nation, a new system emerges-one that offers certainty at the cost of freedom.

Nadia van der Meer, a teacher living under constant surveillance, struggles to survive in a society governed by enforced conformity and ideological control. Drawn into the orbit of Mahmoud El-Yasin, the calm architect of the New System, she must navigate a world where law, language, and identity are rewritten.

This dark dystopian novel explores how freedom erodes step by step, and how easily people surrender autonomy in exchange for security.

A gripping story of power, belief, and resistance-perfect for readers of political dystopia and speculative fiction.
