Outstanding Must Read for Navigating in These Changing Times

David provides an insightful look at what we do to sabotage success, whether you are working your way up the ladder or the CEO, and what we can all do to contribute to the success of our organizations as well as our own lives. He provides a unique, yet much needed perspective on what it is to be a leader and develop the leader in each of us. His approach is timeless and extremely timely. He back his points up with powerful, real life examples from his experience with various clients and companies and includes simple steps we can all take to navigate the changes and challenges that are coming at us at a breakneck pace. I highly recommend this easy to read and extremely powerful book. We need many more of the kind of leaders David is describing as the navigators today!

The Navigator's Handbook: an honest appraisal

As a small business owner and professional, I can attest to the fact that enormous and valuable research went into the preparation of this guide. During a recent major corporate transition, essentially all of the items described in the book became apparent at one point or another. I wish I would have read this prior to the transition. It would have saved me money and grief!! Regardless of the size of your business, this book will prove to be one of the best investments you'll ever make.

Having had fourteen years of senior level management experience and working as a practicing clinical psychologist and consultant, I found David O'Brien's book "The Navigator Handbook" to be both inspiration and practical in developing further my leadership skills. Mr. O' Brian chapters are concisely written and balanced, offering theory, case studies, personal reflections, entertaining anecdotes/stories, practical individual and group exercises and assessments which lead the reader to a higher plateau in the quest to become a navigating leader. The book itself is written in a very personal style which makes it engaging and enjoyable to read. A most read book for any individual interested in leadership, personal development and organizational change.

This book has been a tremendous resource for me. It has helped me to analyze my current leadership skill set, define my ideal leadership style and offer tips/practices on how to develop the plan to achieve my vision of success. This volume offers tips on implementing certain practices to achieve both long and short term goals. I have owned this book for a few weeks now and like any good guide/handbook it is showing the wear of constant reference and use. I constantly refer to chapters in the book to prepare for Team and individual meetings. I have noticed marked improvements in Communication, Planning, and Team Building within my own skill set. This is truly a fantastic guide for any Leader looking for constant personal improvement.
