Relive the wonder of this classic tale, chronicling the months leading up to the birth of Mary's son, Jesus Christ. From her departure from Nazareth with Joseph, to their arrival in Bethlehem, Mary... This description may be from another edition of this product.
At the beginning of this book we are shown where King Herod's soldiers arrive in the town of Nazareth telling the news that all the townspeople have to return to the place of their birth. This causes immediately problems for Joseph and Mary as Mary is about to give birth to her first child, Jesus. We are then taken on their journey as they travel the long trail to reach their destination. We are shown the Magi and walk with them as they seek the soon to be born King. And then we are taken through the majestic birth of the Savior, the homage given to him by the Magi, and the fleeing that they all must do after his birth as Herod brings his wrath upon the children of the region. This book is an excellent one to give a child (or adult) a short version of what took place during the time of the birth of Jesus. The photographs are exceptional and since they are photographs and not just drawn pictures it helps to bring the story more to life. It is very well written, Scriptural and well done in every aspect. I am reading this with one of my grandchildren and she asks questions as we go through the book. That is good as it has opens up a good communication to discuss the things of God. This is a very nice book, telling the story of the Savior's birth. A book that will be treasured in many homes for many years to come. Well done.
