In this book titled "THE NATIVES" an attempt is made to write in brief

about the land and the people especially of Guitekual probing in all its

aspects. It is a sequel to a book 'Paite Tanchin' written by me and

published by N. Zatawn in 1992. Writing is a dynamic and an on going

process. We have to keep on updating as the old gives way to the new.

The result of the exercise is this book.

It goes without saying that in such an endeavour there would be

limitations in the contents and substances. I seek the indulgence of the

esteemed readers in this regard.Suggestions for improvements are

always welcome. The valuable propositions will be incorporated in the

subsequent editions.

I am grateful to my son Pumthianlal Guite who helped me in the
