Alps and Fanta first meet as school students while searching for their SSC exam center, Jai Hind School, in Meghaninagar. Alps, a reserved and shy boy, is given twenty rupees by his father to locate the school beforehand, but he spends it on kachoris instead. As he struggles to find the school, he encounters Fanta, a lively and talkative girl equally frustrated because her father is out of town and her mother is occupied with her grandmother's health. Together, they finally find the school and sit for their exams. Their eyes frequently meet across a few benches, creating an unspoken connection.
After a successful paper, Fanta demands a celebration, but Alps is embarrassed to admit he has no money. Later, during their third paper, a boy proposes to Fanta in the classroom, and she beats him with her sandal. Alps, witnessing this, becomes too afraid to express his feelings. Fanta assumes Alps is simply too shy, so she doesn't insist.
Years pass, and they coincidentally enroll in the same higher secondary school, yet they don't speak. Later, when they both join Ahmedabad Commerce College, they recognize each other and reconnect. This time, Fanta asks why he never proposed to her before. Alps confesses that his insecurities-his simple looks and financial status-held him back. Fanta reassures him, revealing that she admires three things about him: his eyes, which never looked at her body but only at her face, his lips, which always spoke beautifully, and his kind nature.
They become close friends but maintain separate friend circles, meeting only outside the campus. After graduation, Alps takes a call center job with irregular shifts, allowing them to enjoy movies and long drives together. Their bond deepens over the years.
In April 2004, near MS University in Vadodara, Alps notices a girl at a bus stand and finds her attractive. When he tells Fanta, she playfully teases him, reminding him, "Look at your palm. My initials, F and K, are already there. That girl must be K."
As they grow older, both face immense pressure to marry. Alps rejects proposals or convinces girls to reject him, while Fanta firmly tells her father she will marry only Alps. Overwhelmed by the stress, Alps starts smoking and is later diagnosed with tuberculosis. Fanta urges him to quit, and he finally does.
One day, Alps meets with an accident near Helmet Circle, and Fanta rushes to his side within five minutes, staying with him until his family arrives. He suffers a serious injury and takes a month-long leave to recover in Uttar Pradesh. Their relationship remains strong through phone calls.
Just as life seems to settle, tragedy strikes. Fanta falls ill suddenly, and despite treatment, she passes away on November 22, 2008. Devastated, Alps realizes that though fate separated them, her name remained etched in his palm and heart forever.
