The Naked Goddess II

Welcome to the Naked Goddess II Late in 2013 an idea of sharing a second anthology in support of Help for Heroes UK and Wounded Warriors Project US was conceived. Jeannette Slavinski's own mantra states, "There is a poem in the heart of every human being". The title, The Naked Goddess is a metaphor to capture the imagination. The Naked Goddess was first published in Nov 2012 followed by an eBook in 2013. eBook 2013 The eBook developed after a chance meeting on a beach in Florida, a young American teenager heard Jeannette s British accent & asked if she could do a project, called, Spur of the Moment. The Meeting. Jeannette delightedly agreed & related The Naked Goddess s journey to date, the project won first prize. Lakeview High school in Ohio contacted Jeannette & a skype session was set to discuss the book. Her own poem, Cyberspace War, electronic wars online, was brought to the forefront as one student identified how it depicted bullying to him, as he too was being bullied Poems were discussed and the students eagerly asked if they could donate their own poetry. Although the first book had been published with The Young Poet Laureate section including a U. K. school, Jeannette then decided to bring the eBook out to also include the U. S. school's poetry. New York Influence 2015 At the waterfall of tears, the 9/11 memorial New York 2015 Jeannette Slavinski pondered the idea, that now is the time for The Naked Goddess II anthology to be released. The book also includes an exceptional personal account of 9/11 by award winning author Claire Power Murphy. In the East End Caf in Trinity Square New York, which served as a rescue & medical centre during and after 9/11, an emotive force spoke freely to Jeannette her teardrops reigned, she felt freestyle poetry would flow again under the themes of love and war from around the globe. First on board with their poetry were Pauls V1 School New Jersey. U. S. A. The Poetry once again began to flow in from around the world hence the Naked Goddess II anthology 2016. Why Help for Heroes & Wounded Warriors Project? As part of the Lancashire Fusiliers and Royal Artillery Jeannette's late father Sergeant Peter Slavin served in the British Army as a gunner in WW2. From an invitation to meet former Mayor of Carmel, California & legendary movie star, Mr. Clint Eastwood, the idea to collate a book was beginning to manifest rapidly. Deeply inspired by her father's military action and Clint Eastwood's stance as and his support for the military, the ink flowed as Jeannette breathed in the ambrosial magic of the Carmel by the Sea experience, she chronicled every movement. This prestigious opportunity proved an abundant blessing. Jeannette realised she needed to share this humble fortitude with the world of the injured service men and women of war who are the true heroes. Henceforth the chosen charities Help for Heroes UK & Wounded Warriors Project USA. Her diarizing edited in to a narrative called "You Raise Me Up", which is exactly what Mr. Clint Eastwood did say Jeannette. You Raise Me Up is a rhyming narrative about Clint Eastwood's hospitality and Carmel by the sea. An analogy akin to fairy tale. The whole concept was finalized after Joe Christopher submitted a graphic letter and poem about his son Tyler, who was severely injured in Afghanistan. In the face of adversity Tyler continued his heroic deeds in support of Help for Heroes, Wounded Warriors Project & the Naked Goddess Anthology.
