Thriller set in the eighteenth century in which the protagonist, the Marquis Caracciolo of Carrascosa, was commissioned, for reasons of State and of Faith, by Ferdinand IV of Bourbon to recover the Holy Shroud. Precisely the story takes place in 1769, twenty years before the French Revolution that would radically change all Western society. The Marquis, warns the first signs of the new world that would open in twenty years, when he meets Voltaire in Geneva that opens his mind to new ideas of illumination equality and freedom. The story, which offers a glimpse of the society of the time, unfolds, in a relentless ride, between Rome, Paris, Mont Saint Michel to arrive in Dresden with intrigues, palace conspiracies and mysterious implications, with custom and with a theological introduction on the meaning of the Shroud and of the religion from the Christian and Jewish point of view. The story ends in Turin with a last unpredictable and dangerous ambush.
