The Mystery of the Missing Brooch

By Wendy Boynton

A cozy murder-mystery featuring eighty-one year old Meg Thornton, a resident in a care home, and nineteen year old Lauren Peachy, who is starting her first job there. The unlikely duo form an immediate friendship when they investigate the disappearance of a fellow resident's family heirloom. This seemingly trivial incident leads them into a web of lies, thefts, infidelity and murder. Can Meg use all of her knowledge and experience as the widow of DCI Grant Thornton to help solve this case? Can Lauren's youth and enthusiasm contribute to the perfect partnership?

The police are reluctant to believe their suspicions that a key suspect may already have murdered four times. But, in a massive plot twist, another murder is committed, throwing everything the amateur sleuths think they know into disarray and bringing the police into the investigation. Can Meg and Lauren now convince DI Daniel Bywater and DS Vivian Williams to take them seriously? Can a threat to Meg's life be averted as the mystery races towards its thrilling climax?
