Growing up I always thought reading was an acquired taste. Some people liked it, and some people didn't. When I was younger, I was the latter. As a child, I was ok with that, but as an educator, I have made it my job to change that thought process. It's not about reading being an acquired taste but in fact about finding your reading flavor. For me its romance, for others it might be graphic novels or perhaps a novel about the upcoming zombie apocalypse, whatever the case may be I now believe, reading is reading. I make it a point every year to introduce my students to different genres and styles of writing to see which one is their flavor. This year I introduced them to the deliciousness of mystery.
