In a small town lived an old shoemaker who, over time, had aged and was living a hard life. One morning, he woke up determined to make a special pair of patent leather shoes. After rummaging through his belongings, he got to work and created a wonderful shoe, which he carefully placed in the shop window. When he was about to start the second shoe, he realized he had run out of materials. A bit sad, the shoemaker thought that maybe a gentleman from the town would see the shoe and order the pair. So he fell asleep happy.
