In this three-part saga, while investigating a missing person case, Washington State Police detectives, Katy Hope and Pete Regret survive three attempts on their lives. The first effort killed them long enough to attract the ghost of Harley Chance. A Seattle police officer shot in the line of duty in 1881. He and his long dead dog Pogo team up with the detectives.
Agharti was written on a piece of paper found on a dead Chinese national. The man and his roommate disappeared from WSU eight years ago. Beside the paper, authorities found two plastic cards. One bore the photo of the dead man, the other, his missing roommate. Both photos were recent.
In their search for the missing roommate, they discover an underground world and a plan to start World War three. The detectives are warned something occult is behind the plot, they realize they are over their heads.
After finding corruption in high places and not knowing who to trust the detectives reluctantly ask their friends, the Murphy twins, Jack and Jillian for help.
The aspiration: that Jack and Jillian's magical powers and the life experiences the twins picked up during their twenty-one lifetimes will help even the odds. However, with more than seven-million mutant soldiers and four stolen Russian nukes they plan to detonate on American soil, the odds are not in their favour.
