More shocking than Fatal Vision and In Cold Blood, the Leo Frank-Mary Phagan murder case still generates high emotions. Written by a great-niece of "Little Mary Phagan", here is the mesmerizing,... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Although one previous review states that this is not a good book to begin researching the Leo Frank/Mary Phagan case, I believe otherwise. Having just been introduced to the tragic story of little Mary Phagan, I happened upon Mary Phagan-Kean's book and read it in 3 days. I found it very interesting and informative - not just because the author is a descendant of little Mary Phagan, but because she had extensive information, whether it was the actual testimonies of the people involved or private letters sent by certain important officials regarding the case. I went into this book without any real knowledge of the story, and although I still came out unsure as to Leo Frank's innocence, I came out with a lot of information about the trial and case itself. Sure, Mary Phagan-Kean is biased against Leo Frank and states so in this book, but it's hard not to be when there truly is a lot of "evidence" against him. True, however, that there is a lot of "evidence" supporting his innocence - and she doesn't hide that. In this book, the author doesn't tell you what to believe. She lets you decide for yourself.
TRUTH WILL WIN OUT EVERY TIME

This book deals in the truth as it was written based on the "Brief of Evidence" as it was recorded at the trail in a court of law. The author left it up to the reader to make up their own mind. Leo Frank was granted a pardon by the State of Georgia "With out addressing his innocence or guilt" Who ever heard of such a pardon? Leo Frank still stands guilty of the crime of the Murder of Little Mary Phagan. The facts speak for them selves. For a neophyte author, the facts were well presented. This book is still in print, while other books are no longer in print. This book is a must read for every Law student or history buff
Finally the truth about Leo Frank
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 26 years ago
Leo Frank was convicted for the murder of "little Mary Phagan" in 1913 on Confederate Memorial Day. Even though "stories" have been reported over the last 80 years about Leo Frank's innocence, none of them have been proven including those of Jim Conley and Alonzo Mann. I am glad someone finally told the truth - Leo Frank killed Mary Phagan and was convicted of the crime. The pardon issued by Georgia is absolutely meaningless - it is does not address his guilt or innocence. Bottom line - Leo Frank is still the convicted murderer of Little Mary Phagan.
The most authoritative and accurate account yet written.

If you are looking for the truth behind one of the most controversial murder cases in American history, it doesn't get any better than this. Forget the revisionist accounts which have until now masqueraded as historical fact, this book addresses the salient issues which the apologists for Leo Frank dare not address, and quite handily debunks the popular mythology of Frank's supposed innocence. The book is written by the great-niece of the victim and provides some poignant insight into her personal struggle to discover and present the truth of what really happened on that Confederate Memorial Day in 1913. By writing this book the author courageously broke her family's official silence of over seventy years on this sensitive subject, despite a relentless campaign of distorted facts, exaggerations and outright lies designed to posthumously exonerate Leo Frank. This book contains an abundance of carefully researched, factual information which was obtained from a wide variety of primary sources. It is a must-have for any serious student of the Leo Frank Case.
